Haz`le released the baby to his father, though with a little bit of reluctance. It had been nice to hold him and she had gotten a bit of a power boost by doing it.

"Nice to meet you too." She said, though his attention was quickly stolen by Tenni, not that she minded much. She lowered her wings slightly, feeling a little self conscious about them.

She stood next to Jason politely. Not quite sure what to do or say. She felt a little out of place, it had been a long time since she had been in a proper family setting. But they were Jason’s family. Soon enough they might be her family, she smiled at the thought and looked around at them all. What an interesting little family she would have!

Jason laughed lightly, highly amused with his dear sister’s joke. “Oh, that explains those loud cries I heard during this summer! They haven’t shattered my windows, but they were sure loud enough so I could hear him!” Leaning forward a little, he poked Tenni’s nose. “You be good, little Tenni, or you’ll scare all the birds of the city, hahahaha!”

He wrapped an arm around Haz’le shoulders, pulling her close. “I was just talking with Tal and Haz’le about the possibility of going on a short vacation, but we just realized some problems related with that idea…”

"Sure, I can hold him as much as he wants, hehe!" Greg giggled and kissed Tenni’s hair. "He’s my little champion, after all!!" He turned to Talula, pressing a quick kiss on her lips.

"It’s been such a hard day in the uni! Tomorrow we’re going to do our practices in the amphitheather that we created in the park… Maybe you could bring Tenni and watch me practice my duet with Javis! We’re the comic duo of our classroom…"

Greg blinked at Jason’s commentary. This was certainly unexpected. “Oh, a journey? Where to? And what problems?”

Leaning back into her husband, Talula quietly says, “You see na’ha’ne, Haz’le is a spring fairy. The turn of the season has weakened her and she needs to go some place that will re-energize her.”

She studied her small friend closer and could see a tired look on her face, like a person who hadn’t gotten enough sleep or had been pushing themselves to hard and needed a break. It worried her that maybe she had separated herself from an essential source of energy, one that her kind couldn’t do without. Enough so, that she was forced to earnestly ask, “Will another earthly place be suitable enough to revive your waning energy? I know there’s a lot about magical creatures I’m ignorant about, I guess maybe I should ask master Sadon to teach me a little more about those I’m likely to encounter.”

Haz`le sighed against him happily as he held her close and nuzzled her forehead.

"Thank you Jason." She said, opening her eyes. "I hope it’s not to sudden. I just… Don’t want to think tonight. Does that make sense? And I… I…"

Would she dare say it? Those three words seemed so dangerous in her mind. It was such a powerful thing, and so scary in a way. When her wings had been damaged, she had thought she would never find anyone, she had resigned herself to that. When she started her journey, finding someone to love was the last thing that was on her mind. It seemed impossible, crazy even!

But she did. She did. She did.

The fairy tilted her head down and quietly, in the barest of whispers said: “I love you too.”

Turning her head to watch nervously as her sister climbed onto her back, Talula waited only long enough for her to throw a leg over each shoulder before spreading her wings and taking three striding leaps while flapping, to launch herself off the unstable roof and gain the freedom of open air. Pumping hard, she rose to a safe distance above the buildings and headed back to the Fist warehouse.

It took them only a couple of minutes for the building to come into view and this time she managed a much more graceful landing, plopping down on the tarred surface with ease. “Now let’s get that belt to Haz’le so she can call her friend Sphinx! Hopefully, she’ll be able to help cure Tifos of this dark magic that’s taken over him.”

Jason’s eyes grew in surprise. He hadn’t expected her to say these words. Truth to be told, he never had too many big expectations. But this changed everything. His eyes turned glassy, and before he could help it, tears of joy rolled down his cheeks.

"Oh, Haz’le… Haz’le!" he squeaked, taking her into a crushing hug. "Yes, yes, it makes sense, and… for the love of Einstein, you love me! You love me!!" he cupped gently her face, and caressed her cheeks. "The dream of my father has become true… Thank you, Haz’le… Thank you."

Thalia felt relieved to leave the building, knowing that it was close to crumble. She just hoped that her old friends of the fire department managed to help everyone, now they had to focus on going home as fast as possible! Luckily for her, Talula was incredibly fast. In no time, her feet landed on the warehouse’s roof.

"Yes!!! C’mon Tal, we’ll use the elevator." she beckoned her sister to follow her into the small metallic space, and once they were inside, she pressed the button to go down.

The noise of the elevator startled Jason. “You heard that?” he muttered, getting up to unplug himself from the electric outlet.

Haz`le let out a surprised squeak when he hugged her tightly. She gasped, being so small, the hug literally took her breath away for a moment.

"You’re welcome." She said, as he caressed her cheeks, still a little winded. She noticed he was crying, the fairy reached up and tried to wipe away his oily tears. Which only ended up in smudging them a bit and got oil on her hand.

She turned as she heard the elevator. “I hear it.” She said unenthusiastic. She didn’t like the elevator at all. Haz`le turned back just in time to see him unplug himself. “Are you all charged up and everything?” She asked worried. “Last time it took a lot of your energy.”

As they moved towards the door, Talula transformed back to a wolf. It was easier to get around in a form she had spent plenty of time in, her eagle form was too new to be running hither and yon when time was of the essence. She sat her rump down as they rode the lift down and idly wondered aloud, “If Tifos is under the control of dark magic, what does one use to counter act it?”

Her ears perked forward as the door slid open, hearing the two distinct voices of her brother and friend in conversation. Not waiting for door to open all the way, she pushed on by and hurried ahead while calling out, “We’re back! And we have your belt too Haz’le!”

Seeing that her sister had the belt securely around her waist, Talula gave an affirmative nod as she turned and headed back towards the door. She wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible, her keen hearing was picking up high frequency noises that indicated that the building was unstable. Heading for the stairwell, she turned her head so Thalia would hear her clearly. “We’ll go to the roof where I can switch back to eagle form and take flight. We’re going to have to be careful though, that’s where Jason started the fire!”

She climbed the stairs as fast as possible but came to a dead stop as soon as she poked her head out of the door, the roof top was in ruin with open gaps across the span. “Uh, maybe I can just change here in the stairway? It doesn’t look like there’s any solid and stable spot out there we can stand!”

Taking one fore paw, she placed it gingerly on the charred surface and listened for any sound that might indicate its stability. The faint creak she heard was more then enough to firm her resolve as she backed up against her sister. She gave her an apologetic look as she concentrated on swapping fur for feathers, her transformation taking only a second.

"Can you climb on okay with so little space, or should I risk stepping out onto the roof top?"

Jason’s eyes widened in shock at her revelation. Any single ounce of pity he could could feel for Tifos vanished with her confession. To think Haz’le had been so close to such tragedy… He held her even closer, trying not to flinch at the fear he felt. In the stories his father used to tell him as a child, bad guys were the silly-BWAHAHA-goonna-take-over-the-world type. But this? This was the real world, and what happened had been definitely a wake-up call for him. The evil they would face eventually wasn’t silly. It was smart, cunning, and definitely ready to play dirty as long as it could spread pain and misery.

He kissed her in return, and caressed gently her hair. Holding her close even when they parted from the kiss, Jason nuzzled her forehead. “OK. I understand it. Truth to be told… I’d love to do it with you, too. I love you, Haz’le… And I want to make you happy. Always.”

Thalia gave a nod to his sister. “Yes, that should be OK.” she agreed. The roof seemed the most logical option, it would be easier to fly from there… but something was off. All these cracking sounds around them made her shiver. “The sooner we leave, the better! I think the building is gonna fall soon!!”

But it seemed the roof was in worse shape than she could imagine. She shapeshifted her arms, making them smaller and more human-like to reduce her own weight. Almost seeking instinctively for protection, Thalia leaned close to Talula. “Yes, it will be better if you change here!” she answered. Even as the experienced firefighter she had been, Thalia knew when a place wasn’t safe. And this one had written DANGER all over it. Fortunately for her, her sister was able to change in a blink.

"Yes, perfectly!" she answered, climbing to Talula’s back the best she could. "Now let’s go home, before we don’t have anything under our feet!!"

Haz`le sighed against him happily as he held her close and nuzzled her forehead.

"Thank you Jason." She said, opening her eyes. "I hope it’s not to sudden. I just… Don’t want to think tonight. Does that make sense? And I… I…"

Inanotherlife: Well, this is a bit disconcerting. We have no customers, the parking lot is empty (except for one of our work trucks)! Guess I’ll tidy up the store while I wait for someone to walk in :p

Haz`le started slightly when the baby started to move. She fluttered her wings nervously, though she was a spring fairy, she hadn’t held a baby in a while and wasn’t completely sure what to do. He seemed happy but he sure was wiggly.

She smiled and blushed a bit when Talula called her Jason’s girlfriend, she was still getting used to that. She wondered what na’ha’ne meant?

She moved to stand next to Jason, still holding the baby in her arms. She didn’t mind meeting new people, but Jason felt more comfortable and familiar. Besides, she had something to tell him once everything calmed down.

Greg’s arrival made Jason forget his worries. Watching how Tenni seemed so excited to see his father again, he poked playfully his nose. “What’s up, little man? Do you want to go to see Papa? Yesss? Yes you want to see Papa don’t you~” he cooed, before kissing gently the baby’s cheek. “Let’s take your to your Papa. C’mon, Haz’le, you have to meet him.”

Finding the couple on the hall, Jason waved as greeting. He wrapped an arm around Haz’le shoulders, pushing her forward carefully, so Greg could see her better.

"Hi Greg! Long time no see! Look, this is my girlfriend, Haz’le. Haz’le, this is Greg Davis, my sister’s husband."

"Heeeey! My sweet heart’s fire, ever so gorgeous~" Greg returned Talula’s embrace with equal zest, pulling her close. One of his hands cupped gently the back of her head, while his lips melted with hers in a warm, tender kiss.

Her next commentary earned a chuckle from the young actor. “Oooh, I want to see that! Tenni’s faces never will cease to amuse me!” he chuckled, and held her in that hug just a little bit longer. After a hard day of work, nothing like some cuddles. Cuddles made everything better.

"And you mentioned Jason brought his girlfriend…?" he mumbled, right before the aforementioned android arrived to the hall. And he wasn’t alone. Next to him there was… a fairy? Well, he had seen weird things in the world. Keeping one arm wrapped around Talula’s waist, he offered his free hand to Haz’le as greeting.

"Nice to meet you, Haz’le. I see you already met my son." he picked up the wiggly baby, who was already trying to reach for him. "Hello, my little champion! Papa can’t wait to see you drinking apple juice!"

Seeing that Tenni was excited by his father’s presence, Talula was about to offer in taking him back but the baby stilled when Greg started talking to him. Instead he reached out both arms as his little hands clutched at the air, a clear indication he wanted daddy to hold him.

She couldn’t help chuckling at her son’s antics, he was really smart for an infant only several month old. “You’d better hold him Papa, before he sets up the siren!” Turning to give her brother a wink, she continued in an amused tone. “We haven’t told you what a fine set of lungs this child has, when he really wants something he has a cry that can practically shatter glass!”

Talula gave her sister a toothy grin when she reminded her that their brother wasn’t the only one who could modify their extremities, giving her a sly wink as she said, “Then on the count of three, we’ll both have at this stubborn door!”

Taking a few steps back, she glances at Thalia as she quickly says, “One, two,….THREE!”, and charges full tilt at the door. The poor thing fairly exploded as both the weight of her formidable body and her sister’s solid arms pummeled it into splinters. Now that the way was clear, she put her sense of smell to work and quickly found the room her fairy friend had been held in, sniffing around until she came to a chest of drawers.

"Thalia, could you please open this drawer and take Haz’le’s belt out. Be careful that nothing falls out, it has the only thing she can contact her friend Sphinx with!"

Jason’s eyes widened in shock. Was she asking him for what he believed she was asking for?! She really wanted to do it with him, of all people?! But… he was an android. He wasn’t even human. Yet… his father had built him to be human in everything.

He sat up, and caressed gently her hair. “Haz’le, I…. I’d love to. I’ve never ‘done it’ before, though, so I guess you’ll have to teach me what is what are the things you like… the things you don’t like… all these things. But, before anything… Are you really sure?”

Thalia grinned from ear to ear. She loved to help in everything she could, and it had been a while since she had blown up something. “YES!” she answered, and prepared her fist. With a loud CRASH, the door soon was nothing but splinters. The cyborg jumped into the bedroom, mindful of the floor’s state - she didn’t want it to break under her feet!

"Do you sme—" Thalia didn’t have time to finish her question, as Talula’s powerful snout found the belt effortlessly. Following his dear sister’s indications, she opened the drawer and took the belt. "It seems a bit worn out by the use, but certainly endurable." Very carefully, she tied it around her own waist. "There, it won’t fall like this. Let’s go back to the warehouse… And you said Haz’le is friends with a Sphinx? Whoa! I’ve seen many creatures since I’ve started to live with my mate, but I’ve never seen a sphinx!"

Haz`le still had her face buried in his shirt when he sat up and caressed her hair. Her wings fluttered a bit when he did. She wrapped her arms around him and turned her head to the side, leaning against him comfortably.

"Jason. Tifos almost, he almost." She let out a sigh, why was she having such trouble with words today? "There are two things in the world that spring fairies view as most despicable. One is killing, taking the life of another, we are all about new life so this makes sense. The other is forcing oneself upon an unwilling partner, this can also result in new life, but one that is hated. Tifos almost did the second one Jason.

"I’ve never done it before either, but I want to do it with you." She looked up at Jason, her eyes damp. "I was so scared Jason. I feel like I’m always scared or worried or over thinking something. I want to not think, not worry or be scared. I just want to feel.

She cupped the back of his head and leaned forward, giving him a kiss on the lips. She tried to put everything she was feeling into that kiss, everything she could. She hesitantly licked his bottom lip.

"Please Jason." She said against his mouth. "That’s all I want tonight. If your uncomfortable with it then we wont. But I just don’t want to think tonight."

Seeing that her sister had the belt securely around her waist, Talula gave an affirmative nod as she turned and headed back towards the door. She wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible, her keen hearing was picking up high frequency noises that indicated that the building was unstable. Giving him a Kindly smile, Talula nods as she replies, “Well I’m glad to see that you and Helen are getting along now, she must have been very confused!” The creases at the corner of her eyes deepen when he asks about the salmon and she can’t help but give a little laugh, knowing all too well how the nature of the beast can influence one’s decisions.

"I’d be happy too! Maybe you’d like a small bowl of cream as well? I saw a bottle of it in the fridge and I know at least my own cat seems to enjoy it. Of course he also like chopped liver and to me, that’s plain gross!" She turned as she spoke, taking the empty plate she had used for the fish and quickly replenished it with a slightly larger pile then before.

Satisfied that there was sufficient for both felines, she was about to place it on the middle of the counter when she paused and gave him a questioning look. “Should I put it here on on the floor? I don’t want your kitty thinking that it’s alright now for her to be up here.”

Harrison frowned as he thought it over.  Helen wasn’t supposed to be up on the coutners and she knew it….. but there was no way he was going to eat off the floor.  Nope.  He had to maintain some dignity after all!!

"Just put it up here," he said, licking his lips eagerly.  The smell of the salmon was sooo good!  His tail was standing up on end and shaking excitedly.   Helen was merely watching him, torn between watching his clear excitement with some fascination and the delicious smell herself.

Keeping as straight a face as possible, Talula carefully set the plate of minced smoked salmon on the counter between Mr. Drake and Helen, who took keen interest in it as soon as she caught the scent.

"Well now that you’re all settled, I guess I’d better be going. It’s never a good idea to make a healer wait, especially when he’s part dragon!" She couldn’t completely stifle the giggle that bubbled up out of her, the memory of how irritated master Sadon had been the last time was just too funny.

"This healer…. he wouldn’t named Sadon by any chance?" Harrison asks, resisting the temptation of the fish for the moment.  Helen sees that he’s distracted and proceeds to chow down the special treat.

Trying to keep an even tone to her voice, Talula was surprised to hear the name coming form such an unexpected source. “Uh, why yes. As a matter of fact it is. Sooo…you’ve met master Sadon then, I take it. He’s really quite an extraordinary individual! He was kind enough to take me as a patient since we, Greg and I, found out I was pregnant.”

She wasn’t too worried about the blue man having that information, especially seeing as he knew about the remarkable hybrid. It did raise a question or two though and she couldn’t help but ask, “How is it you came to know about Sadon, if you don’t mind me asking?”
